17/05/08 TEAM CHALLENGE AMOC Race meeting
Brands Hatch
Wet, wet, wet, was the only way to describe Brands Hatch on the 17th May venue for the first team race. Simon Baldwin in the highly modified and very quick AM Le Mans led the field and was home by over 20 seconds from John Boyes. Trevor Swete in the Invicta came in a good 4th ahead of handicap. Robert Lewis racing his very smart V12 Le Mans replica for the first time was ninth. Tim Wadsworth 2 litre was 11th just ahead of Binky who was going so much more quickly in the Rapier tourer since its winter rebuild and won the handicap. Sadly John Waterson went out on lap 3 with mechanical problems as did James Wilmot-Smith who, until the car went off song, was going extremely well. Only two teams survived intact. Aston Martin 1 were first and Lagonda 1 (Wadsworth, Swete, Lewis) were second.
